Job Summary

As the Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans, building and nurturing client relationships, and building and developing a high-performing sales team. Your expertise will contribute to our company's continued success in providing comprehensive logistics solutions to clients across various industries.

General Duties and Responsibilities

Sales Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans that align with the company's growth objectives and market trends.
  • Identify new business opportunities, markets, and industry segments for expansion.
  • Analyze competitive landscape and market trends to create innovative sales strategies.

Team Leadership:

  • Leading, coaching, developing, and mentoring to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Foster a collaborative and motivated sales culture that encourages teamwork and professional development.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and strategic partners.
  • Understand client needs, challenges, and objectives to offer tailored logistics solutions.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction throughout the sales cycle.

Business Development:

  • Identify and establish relationships with potential clients through networking, cold calls, and industry events.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to create compelling sales materials and presentations.
  • Drive the development of innovative service offerings to address evolving customer needs.

Sales Performance Analysis:

  • Monitor and analyze sales data to track performance against targets and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide regular reports and presentations to senior management on sales metrics, trends, and forecasts.

Sales Process Optimization:

  • Continuously refine the sales process to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to streamline internal processes and ensure smooth execution of contracts.

Market Intelligence:

  • Stay current with industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies in the logistics space.
  • Leverage market insights to inform strategic decisions and keep the company at the forefront of the industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field or at least 10 years of sales experience within logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing.
  • Proven track record of at least 8 years in sales leadership roles within the logistics or supply chain industry.
  • Strong understanding of 3PL services, supply chain operations, and industry dynamics.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and sales analytics tools.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, conferences, and industry events.
